Hiring Pipeline | Zoho Recruit

Hiring Pipeline in Zoho Recruit

In Zoho Recruit, a hiring pipeline defines the sequence of stages used to track candidates throughout the hiring process. Each stage represents a step such as screening, interviews, or offer, helping recruiters understand where a candidate stands at any point in time.

As candidates progress, they move across stages, allowing hiring teams to track status, take actions, and evaluate outcomes in a structured way.

Key Concepts

Pipeline

A pipeline is a structured set of stages that represents a complete hiring process. Pipelines can be configured to match different roles, departments, or hiring processes within an organization.

Stage

A stage represents a specific step in the hiring process, such as Screening, Interview, or Offer. It helps organize candidates based on their current position in the workflow.

Status

A status defines the outcome of a candidate within a stage. For example, a candidate in the Interview stage may be marked as Hired, Rejected, or On-Hold. Statuses provide clarity on decisions made at each step.

Understanding Pipelines with and without Applications

The behavior of hiring pipelines depends on whether the Applications module is enabled. The table below outlines the key differences.

Aspect
With Applications Enabled
Without Applications
Pipeline scope
Multiple pipelines can be created based on industry, experience level, etc.
Common pipeline for all job openings (and associated candidates)
Stage tracking
Each pipeline has its own stage progression
Stage progression as per the shared pipeline
Pipeline flexibility
Pipelines can be tailored per role or hiring process
Pipeline structure is common for all hiring
Impact of stage updates
Changes affect applications within the selected pipeline
Changes affect all candidates in the system

With the Applications module enabled, hiring pipelines operate at the application level, allowing independent tracking for each role a candidate applies to.

Without the Applications module, hiring pipelines operate at the candidate level, resulting in a single, shared hiring flow for each candidate.
